On Wednesday evening last the St.Johns Volunteers launched their Healthy Club initiative. We are one of 16 clubs nationally picked by Croke Park to participate.
Ms Stacey conon National Co ordinater from Croke Park joined us on the night to deliver her presentation.
Ms Eithne O Sullivan Project Co ordinater for the Volunteers launched our project with it being endorsed by Dr Adian Buckley consultant Cardiologist in Wexford General Hospital.
this project is run  by the Volunteers in conjunction with the Health Promotion Unit of the HSE and Croke Parkto involve club members &the local and wider community.
St Johns Volunteers will kick start this initiative at the schools sports dat in St Johns Road Mercy School this Wednesday were we will be providind the kids with our healthy option stand with snacks, fruit, water and sunblock.

Adult Hurling: Our adult hurlers played in the first round of the championship last weekend, hurlers on both sides gave a good account of them selves, unfortuneatly we lost by 4points. we are playing Ballyhogue on friday at 7pm in the second round of the championship.

Under 10s: Hurling & football training on Tuesday evening from 6pm in Paric Charman. We had an enjoyable evening in Taghmon recently playing both hurling and football against Taghmon/Camross. Well done to Taghmon/Camross players and mentors.

Under 14s: Footballers had their second win in the football championship league two weeks ago beating Blackwater. A big well done to both teams in what was a great game & thanks to all for their support. Hurling training is on Monday evenings 6-7pm & football Wednesday evening 7-8 in Paric Charman.

Under 16s:  Hard luck to our under16s  footballers who got beaten in two matchs in Division 1 of the football championship. Football training is on Tuesday evening 6-7pm in Paric Charman.

Adult Football: Both teams lost their matches last weekend. having started off slow in the first half the pace quickened by the second half. great games of football played by all teams involved

Adult Hurling: Playing the first round of the championship matchs next Sunday away to the Shamrocks.
